Identifying students eligible for a PRC medal
The PRC Medal is awarded to Year 9 or 10 students to recognise 7 years of independent reading. Medal recipients also receive a standard Challenge certificate that coordinators download and print.
There is currently no report that coordinators can run to identify students who are eligible. Instead, we recommend coordinators run an SRR count report (described above) and look for Year 9 and 10 students who have an SRR Count of 7 and above. Note: This does not guarantee a student is eligible for a PRC medal
After identifying your shortlist of potential medal recipients, look at each student's reading record.
A Year 9 Student will need:
-A validated reading record every year from Year 3-9 inclusive.
A Year 10 student will need
-7 validated reading records between Year 3 and Year 10, with one missing year from their reading record history.
Students can only receive the PRC medal once: Either in Year 9 or Year 10.
Note: Participation in the K-2 challenge does not count towards a students' eligibility for the PRC medal.
Students that don't appear on the SRR Count
Students whose names do not appear on your SRR Count report are not validated for the current Challenge. You can check the status of their Student Reading Record (SRR) in the Not Validated report.
Students whose names do not appear on the Not Validated report did not start a SRR in the Challenge.
