This article applies to Non-government school students.  Public schools, please refer to the corresponding article for information on how to update the name information for public student accounts.


If a student’s name or DET User ID is spelt incorrectly, you are able to update it in the PRC website. Select from the options below:


To update the spelling of the student’s name only:

  • go to Students > Student Details
  • search for the student (using incorrect spelling)
  • in the Change Details screen, enter the student’s name correctly
  • click on the Update button

To update the spelling of the student’s name and DET User ID:

  • go to Students > Student Details
  • search for the student (using incorrect spelling)
  • in the Change Details screen, enter the student’s name correctly
  • tick the Regenerate DET User ID box that appears

  • click on the Update button

To update the spelling of the student’s DET User ID only:

  • go to Students > Student Details
  • search for the student
  • in the Change Details screen, type a space immediately after the child’s name in the First Name field
  • tick the Regenerate DET User ID box that appears
  • click on the Update button


Please allow 24 hours for the changes you have made to appear in the website.
